Thinkwrap Commerce is pleased to announce its first international expansion. The firm has acquired an eCommerce software development and delivery center based in the heart of Valencia, Spain. The team comprises a highly skilled hybris software development team with experience working directly with numerous international eCommerce brands.
This acquisition increases Thinkwrap’s hybris development and integration competency and capacity while providing a strategic base from which to expand all areas across its operations including hybris and Oracle Commerce development, integration, technical operations and business optimization.
Valencia offers near ideal living conditions for current and future Thinkwrap employees to maintain a great work/life balance. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain, and the 15th largest city in the European Union. An important seaport on the Mediterranean, Valencia boasts over a hundred kilometers of pristine beaches, close proximity to mountains, comfortable temperatures all year round and over 300 days of sunshine per year. Founded by the Romans in 137 BC, Valencia has a rich cultural heritage and architecture, combined with modern infrastructure. Its high-quality educational institutions will allow Thinkwrap to attract smart new graduates and to access a deep and rich technology talent pool in Spain.
“This is an incredibly exciting development for our company. International expansion has been on our planning agenda for a couple of years now. We are striving to better support our customer’s off-hours operational needs through extended time zone coverage. And we need increased access to top talent in the highly specialized areas we operate within. This move makes Thinkwrap a stronger company overnight. We have a terrific office in a strategic location and more importantly – an incredibly talented and experienced development team with very strong leadership. This move will provide immediate value to our customers, partners, employees and shareholders.” -Steve Byrne, CEO of Thinkwrap
The team in Spain will continue to work under the leadership of Nicolás Cornaglia Schlieman – a specialist in building peak-performing teams in culturally diverse environments. Thinkwrap’s initial plans are to structure integrated development and QA teams across the two offices to encourage knowledge transfer and standardization on approaches. The firm’s goal is to improve its time to market for customer projects, while reducing some of the stress from existing teams chasing aggressive project timelines.
"Joining Thinkwrap Commerce, one of the fastest growing companies in Canada, is a big and exciting opportunity for our group. We are proud to be part of the company now, and we will use all our eCommerce expertise and development capabilities to contribute to the company growth and customer well-being." -Nicolás Cornaglia Schlieman, Thinkwrap Spain’s General Manager
